Our country's sovereignty ..Only questions or simply no need for questions?

It came as a big shock to me.

According to Defense Minister Zahid Hamidi, our sovereign skies (or so we thought it to be) have been violated by our neighbours not once or twice, but 2058 times!

Unlike your house and even if your neighbour sends his remote control plane overhead, you can just knock on his door to stop him from buzzing that electric engine overhead!

We are talking about the mean lean fighting machines!

In fact, one does not need to go back further then 5 years to remember about 'our incursion' in to 'their waters' which resulted in us losing some rocks to them.

Let me get this right then. We send our ship some nautical miles into what we thought was a permitted light house on some of our rocks, and that resulted in us losing it in ICJ. They come flying into our airspace for some 2058 times, and its ok?

MP Rembau Khairy Jamaluddin rightly asked the questions that brought this to light. But is asking questions merely enough?

Or is this 'Private Khairy's' assertion of his boyhood dreams of man in guns and uniform festering into genuine questions that is aimed at the Minister of Defense that is a precursor to his real ambitions?

And how is that we have allowed this to repeat 2058 times without even a question or even a note to the High Commission of the need to keep our space from being violated?

Do you view this as a test of our system or a systematic encroachment of our skies that has other sinister intentions? or merely an annoyance?

As for me, I think that whats ours must be kept that way.

Curiously though, none of our Members of Parliaments are even concerned about these repeated violations of our skies. DAP who are normally very vocal in so called national issues are suddenly as quiet as a mouse on defense issues. MP Tony Pua had shown in the past of his interest in military hardware has suddenly lost his voice. I hope that this does not signal some questions of loyalty, having made his money from Singapore, and now when our sovereign skies have been encroached on, diam diam ubi sahaja!

PM Najib has done well to ease tensions with his counterpart PM Lee Hsien Loong, and both Malaysia and Singapore had inched ahead in bilateral relations. But that really does not mean that they can send their F16s, F5s and whatever else over our skies as and when they feel like reliving the need to play Lieutenant Maverick!

I think Najib should reconsider Zahid's position too. What kind of Defense Minister do we have who did not react to these violations?? Khairy for Mindef???

What a shame that you receive bad comment from people who are just goverment haters!

I agree with you that we should not allow these illegal military singaporean jets in our airspace...actually, we should just cut off the water supplied to johor..singapore has profited from Malaysia generosity..enough is enough...

P/s..I never like KJ eventhough I'm a UMNO member BUT I still will vote for BN as KJ does not represent the party.....

It is unfortunate that you got goverment haters to comment....

Singaporah has profited from Malaysia generosity and tresspassing into our airspace need to stop...why not just shoot the plane down? or just cut off the water?

I just hate singapore and think we need to be more firm with them..

P/s I never like KJ but i still vote for UMNO as he does not represent the party...

What the heck, if it were me, just shoot them down. They can practice their air craft all they want, we can practice shooting them down all we want.
