A troubled list alright!

I needn't remind you how long it was since......right?

Promises to make good council elections. Hmmmmmmmm.
Promises to have MP classes. Hmmmmmmmmm

So yesterday was when the councillors would have retired after another year of service.

I learnt some two months back that my daughter's kindy was shut down by MPSj, on the request of one such councillor! Yup. And we were told that concillors cannot interfere with the enforcement on municipality laws and by laws.

Apparently, the license of the kindy had expired round about March of 2008, and because there was a change in government, there was an apparent change in policy of renewal. Guess what? They submitted that renewal, but never did get any response, until now!

According to the owner, they got their license when first opened for business sometime in the 90s and have been operating without any problems. In fact, the kindy have seen most of their students moving on to a SRJK(C) nearby without any hitches until now.

According to the enforcement officer, the councilor's specific instruction was to seal the premises at 3.00am!! talk about high handedness!

Following that, she was asked to appeal to the councilor or the office of the ADUN.

It has been two months since, and from what I hear, there is a requirement that you need the signatures of 40 households that do not object to your kindergarten before it is allowed to operate.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the councilor was dropped for her over zealousness.

But that has not ended, has it? Should the state government know that renewals must be done before expiry? How efficient have they been in allowing the re-appointments at a last minute. excuses like not enough details of the new councilors and so on do not gel!

It seems, the wav of change we expected did not materialise at all! More like changing for a different kind, not better kind. something like that.

Did the change bring better change in my life? Certainly not. I am not sure if yours worked out for you. All I am saying is it did not work out for me.
