And the show will go on....

As Freddie Mercury saw it, the show will go on.

Two years ago (at least) when bloggers stepped up the pressure on Abdullah Badawi, most were quite happy to just hop in the wagon.

Some blogs were born, and most were given the welcome by Rocky. So the next step then was to start All blogs. But two years on, going to three, there is now a camp A, and camp B.

You see, Camp A, let's say Rocky remains neutral (but as claimed by most of his executors, he has sold out) and then there is camp B, won't put a name to it (but most would profess their loyal undying support for this camp as it stands for change, or more rightly stands for Pakatan symphatisers). And camp B has refused to sit at the same table with camp A.
Why do I say this? I was just made aware that last year's successful BUM08 headed by Desi YL Chong tried to bring together Zorro (who was unanimously voted organising chair for BUM09) and Rocky, but was declined (reasons not known to me).

I am not sure why, but I know these two men. I won't attempt to play fiddler, but to those of you who have decided to play judge and executioner, I suggest you do your own research.
As far as I know, All Blogs is not yet registered as eight of the pro tem committee members has not answered to the calls by the secretary to respond on their status to register the association.

As for BUM09, I wish Desi all the best in moving it. I can say that bloggers have now resorted to calling one another names if the other is not supporting Pakatan.
Please tell me I am wrong.

To all you bloggers out there trying to ride on exposes, may I suggest you counter check your source? My expose blew up in my face when Bernama confirmed that it was their Sub Editor who made the boo boo. As for those who are keen to just hyperlink, at least make sure that your source does not go around asking for money! I know of at least two bloggers who have done that!
Shhhhh !

Sime Darby, Sime DArby, where art thou?

'Sabah OKs buyover of hospital'...

But instead of the govertnment, haven't we heard that Sime Darby was keen to go into healthcare?

Firefly?....or Firefried?

This video grab shows Firefly (Malaysia Airlines - wholly owned subsidiary) baggage handlers throwing bags that were just taken off its incoming Medan flight. In the background of the video, you can hear passengers shouting at them to stop but to no avail.
Apart from the wanton handling of these bags, they were also drenched, as Subang was experiencing a torrential downpour. Despite having canvas covers, it was not used to protect these bags from getting drenched!
Want to fly Firefly? Think again.....

Eli Stays

Todays announcement that YB Elizabeth Wong shall resume her position, both as State Assemblywoman and EXCO members received mixed reaction.

Naturally, with the divide growing further between PR and BN supporters, the announcement will no doubt bring indifferent comments. Running through Rocky's Bru, it became clear that those supporting PR has branded him a Pro BN blogger (the obvious)

Given the yet unclear turn of events, what I can assume is that the pictures were a clear invasion of privacy. However, given the accusations that Helmi was married, wouldn't condoning her act be problem to the ultra religious PAS which continues to portray its hollier than thou attitude?
Dr Siti Maria, herself claimed that she was not able to shake hands with the men around her for fear that ultra PAS supporters would use it against her. Such, by allowing an EXCO member to have a extra marital affair without calling for her blood, whatmore with a muslim man is generous on PAS's part, won't you think?

If PAS can come out to say that it is ok, then why does it continue to impose other 'restrictions' on muslims?

My opinion is that if Eli is not a politician, then it is ok. After all, the same applied to Chua Soi Lek. But, hey, in Malaysia, depends on who you support, and when the public poll speaks you can get away with it!

How do we believe in all this crap??

UPDATE:
Thanks to Walski for correcting my ignoramousity! (if there is such a word!)
In my haste to be smart, thinking about checking the archives, I had inadvertently circumvented the original typo. His anticipation in realising my mistake and his alerting me of the typo via the cache paged had indeed given me that the impression was that someone manipulated the print. Alas, I was wrong.
In hindsight, I should have contacted the EIC of Bernama, and this was done only after I was alerted of my mistake.

Thanks Walski. This is Bernama's reply;

Dear Mr Yew,
Thank you for your email. There was no mischief. It was a spellcheck facility that went awry because the sub-editor didn't double check before transmitting the story.
It also slipped past the dotcom editor's notice because the name reference was way down below.
But that was a bad scene and the people responsible have been reprimanded. The spellcheck facility was used to double-check against bad spelling and the sub-editor concerned lowered his guard after having having cleared dozens of stories earlier in the day on the new Cabinet line-up.
But that was no excuse. I thank you for your concern and interest.
We are always trying our very best to produce good stories, free from grammatical and spelling errors in our daily grind of mostly Bahasa Malaysia writing, and having to translate them into the English language as well.
If you know of good writers, especially young writers, do please send them along to me and I would be happy to snap them up to ensure that Bernama stays relevant and vibrant in the years ahead. Thank you again, sir.
Best regards,
Yong Soo Heong
Editor-in-Chief

Well. I will admit it. I saw no hope in BN before the 2008 elections.

As such, I did my part and went around with 'the special bunch' not because I wanted to be a part of it, but more because I truly wanted change. Two Sundays ago, when I met up with another blogger, he commented that a mutual friend of ours had labeled me a sell out. Alas,

Now, I don't know why and what these people are doing. It seems, by pulling off tricks like this, they get accepted in to 'the special bunch' (its assumption on my part, because I know the core group truly believes in the good they are doing when they devote all their time into what they believe will bring them change). If bloggers do not know the basics to check their facts, and simply trumpet out lies, and also spin, it makes them no better.

What next? Red shirts?

A Storm Cel brewing!

Update: 5 April 2009

It was not a storm, perhaps a little rain, but no storm, the weather that is!
We gathered at 'Sudu@the Hilton' and was treated to a feast by the host. And that was only the beginning.
They did promise us a treat, and lunch at Sudu was just generous. I met fellow bloggers there and we talked shop, of course. Met a few tech journos too, and exchanged info.

Then at about 1.30pm, we were quickly ushered to our waiting entourage, for our journey to the Sepang F1 circuit. Celcom had a reason to ask us to leave our cars behind. Except for Kerp, who was also part of our blogger team, arrangement was made for him to use his own transport for his own convenience. And then, we were escorted, courtesy of three of Malaysia's finest escort troupe! And we made it to Sepang in no time.

Why? For the storm, of course!
Whats the storm? Well, if you should be asking, then you are too far behind in technology y friend!

Click here for the Storm! And who has the best network coverage?? Not the green or yellow!
I am switching to Blue again!

And if you must know why? Its not the treat today! Its the RM700million that they are going to put in to stop all those interference I have been experiencing from the green fellows!

What a storm it will be! And it will surely come to the Sepang F1 circuit....

A storm cell brewing? Maybe, find out more from this blog what kind of storm I am talking about.........

Here's a clue! It can last for 6 hours under severe use!

An Insight into Perak's Crisis

Datuk Shafee Abdullah giving Press Club members his take on Perak's crisis

When I received the member's notice that Datuk Shafee Abdullah was going to give a talk on what is now more commonly referred to as the Perak crisis, I jumped at the opportunity to sit in and absorb as much as I can in order to keep informed of Perak's constitutional crisis.
Crisis to some, and to others, non issue.

As with most of today's political issues, it comes down to who you support. I thought Shafee's opening was really fair, as he told all those present in NPC that thought he is not an UMNO member, he had in the past, and is stil advising UMNO on certain legal issues. He also went on to say that he is biased towards Barisan Nasional.

But though he openly expressed himself, he was careful to state only the facts according to law.
It is always difficult to quote someone, especially if it involves the law, and I am of the opinoin that lawyers being lawyers will tell you one thing and when it comes to quotation, they will always cite authorities.

I won't go on and list all that Shafee mentioned, but I will go so far as to say that when asked about the validity of the non dated resignation letter, he made a comparison of undated cheque and undated resignation letter. Comparing both, he stated that by parting with an undated cheque, one merely relinquishes ones property, but such cannot be said about a non dated resignation letter. He also cited a written judgement pertaining to a case in 1986 when the court found that an undated letter was the point of contention, and found that it was unlawful to use such a letter. When asked if such a judgement was respected, he cited that the judgement was made by three very respected judges, namely, Tun Salleh Abbas, CJ Lee and George Seah, whom he referred to as 'judges with no known defects'.

Interestingly, he also gave his view on the actions of Sivakumar, the Perak speaker, and thought that Sivakumar may have acted prematurely at one point.

Ina ny case, I thought the decision by the NPC to hold a talk like this was timely. Whatmore with the 'wave' of change that is sweeping the country? Syabas, NPC Committee 09-11. Looking froward to more from you guys!
