Damn! What One Year does to friends...(even brothers!)

Wow. I bet you if someone told you that this would happen, sometime last year in February, you would not have believed it. Damn! You wouldn't even have given it a thought, let alone believe it!

Fast forward, one year later and 5 states 4 states later, and 'brothers' have turned foe.
Funny, how people change that quickly. I ask myself this question, as I write this, 'did I change?'
And the thing is, only I can answer that question truthfully.

Have you changed? I read in one of the comments on a posting in Haris's blog, and it went as far as to mention the 'Bangsa Malaysia forum' which was held in bloghouse last year. It went on to name the panelist in the forum, but stop short of naming Rocky. Perhaps, the mention of Rocky's name would have convulsed the commentor (perhaps) or worst still, he would have turnedd himself to a frog.

Last week, I got a call from a long time 'Blogger buddy' and he thought that I was no different from the Tony he met. Well, I ain't different. I question more perhaps, but different, I am not.
Still the same guy who enjoys a glass of single malt or two, and would also enjoy the company of my blogger buddies. Truth be told, If you don't think the same and support the same people, brothers you are not.

Which is my take when I see Rocky's post, as well as Jed's post, and their q&a with the men in blue.

Rocky, Jed, though we differ in our support (maybe), but I still support your right to post and treat your commentors to the same right.
Can I also say to those who read this, 'Never mind the barrier, as long as we are together'.......

Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani?

Truth is he has not.
But then, has he forsaken Malaysia?
I don't think so.
But has true Malaysians then forsaken her?

True Malaysians. How does one define that?
Is a true Malaysian one who takes to the street every time some issue crops up and is linked to UMNO?
Does a true Malaysian turn a blind eye and ear to his or her fellow countryman when they are needed most?
Does a true Malaysian spread false rumours on the internet to score 'hits'?
Does a true Malaysian command respect?
And there can be a thousand more questions....

The question that we should ask next is then do we consider ourselves true Malaysians?
For every man will claim to be so, by demanding change.
And in that process turn a blind eye to all the prejudices that he or she proclaims.
Really. Ask yourself. Do you consider all that is written to be the absolute truth?
Didn't they say that the truth is out there?

I guess what I am trying to say is, stop spreading lies.
Believe in what you see and not what you hear.
Believe in what you read if you choose, but remember, its the author's version, not yours.

Still finding it hard to know what I am trying to say?
I believe that Elizabeth Wong was a victim. And that the other person was most likely her spurned lover. Period. Nothing more, nothing less.
And what about all this brouhaha about Khalid, Zambryu, Nizar, and the rest?
They can all go suck an egg for all I care, for they are not contributing to the recovery of the nation, but to the ailment instead!
Can all you true Malaysians stand up and look around you and tell the other person to tell the truth as he or she sees it? As it is? No salt, no pepper, please. Its tough enough as it is.

*Thanks bro for the reminder, a true friend indeed.

Yes Mr JC?

I saw an sms being circulated, and was sent to me by a 'concerned Perakian'.
I don't know the number and cannot tell who it was from, but it certainly sounded authentic.

Hence, I did what I normally would do if I needed more information (Google, of course!)
So I found a few websites echoing the same, but none was substantiated.

It seems, the MB vs MB case is up for mention in the High Courts tomorrow (I may have the wrong information on this) and is apparently going to be heard by The Honourable Mohamad Ariff Md Yusuf from the Judicial Commission,. So do you call t hem Judicial Commissioner? Anyways, the sms went as far to say that this Honourable JC has been an advisor to PAS (still is or not, I am not sure too) and was also involved in the Kangar Election petition (presumably in the most recent election). I could not locate any photos via the search engine, but could only come up with names.

Names, as we know, especially in Malaysia, could mean nothing. Possibly every other person may have the same name, especially from Indian and Malay origins. In fact, Chinese too.
But interestingly, PAS had fielded a candidate of the same name in the 2004 elections.
And Mr JC has his name proudly displayed (as it should be) in the Judiciary registrar of Malaysia.

If the sms has any truth in it, then, Mr JC should excuse himself from hearing the case, as it will only give more credence to those supporting Zambry. However, if he is not the same person insinuated in the blogs, then Mr JC should also make a statement (not sure if he can) condemning those who are going to town with it.

Either way, I say the Judiciary is on the losing end. Find for Zambry, then those supporting Nizar will say its the BN might influencing the legislative arm. Find for Nizar, and the former Lord President will be left in no mans land.

Sigh. With this kind of action, who needs Astro?

A Storm no less!

The resignation of Elizabeth Wong from her EXCO and State assembly post came as no surprise to me.
In the press statement earlier by her, she was certain that she was the victim. I saw two pictures of her, one of her sleeping (nothing wrong with that) and another a picture of her in a revealing position (taken by a voyeur). Both pictures can show that she was definitely an innocent party as far as the photos were concerned.

Now, if that was the case, what would she have gained from her actions (by resigning) ? Personally, I don't think she stands to gain anything for now, but for PR, there are lots at stake (just take a look at the overwhelming public support, and she deserves it). I have these questions, and would welcome your feedback, if you so wish to do;

1. Nude photos- What nude photos? There aren't any (I haven't seen any)but if there are nude photos, wouldn't that mean that she was a part of it?
2.The perpetrator-Would have been known to her. If that is the case, pursue the matter to persecute him. As she is the victim, she should stand her ground. But what was he dong in her apartment? Surely it must be with her consent, and if such was the case, why not defend herself?
3.Notice, that she made a press statement that 'PR stands for New Politics' and with that 'PR will rise above gutter politics'. If that is the case, who is accusing who of 'perpetrating' the crime?
It happened to Soi Lek. And he certainly did not say it was the opposition that caused him to do what he did. He stood up like a man and took the blows he did.

My take is that she was going out with this chap (who is most likely a Malay) and in the position that she was in , she would have committed close proximity or Khalwhat. She certainly cannot have that hanging over her head, and such her resignation is to help save face for her boss, and to paint that she was a victim instead.

What's your take?

Saw this in another blog, while trolling for Mohamad Ariff Mohd Yusuf.....ah....it seems there may be some truth in my take.....

Being Rational

Updated 23rd Feb 09;Star's Wong Chun Wai has this to say too. . .let's look rationally 8 days after my posting.

I suppose the above can no longer apply to bloggers and commentators. Really.
Because, an iota of government support means you are either a.the devil himself, b.the devil incarnate, or c.both an a and b hybrid!

I had a call from someone who has been reading my blog on and off, and asked why I stayed away some months back. She expressed her disappointment in seeing that I had a 'love the quran' logo on my blog. Eventhough I am not a muslim, I am sure the quran can be a source to bring its reader back to ground. I must confess that I do not know enough about the religion, but am certain that its followers do not take it for granted. As with the Christians and the bible. Heck, if someone has a love the bible logo, send it to me. Which brings me to the next point.

Vinnan commented that I support corruption and outright power grabs. In his words "UMNO fucked this one up very badly (referring to the takeover in Perak). I don't know, I must have been sleeping, because the YBS from Changkat Jering, Behrang and Jelapang actually went independent, which means they do not want to be a part of Anwar Ibrahim's version of a unified Malaysia (though it only applied to Perak) and pledged their support instead to BN.

Funny though, why no one mentioned anything like 'UMNO F'fd it up' when that BOTA guy went the other way. Oddly, everyone trumpeted the brilliance of Anwar, and even Nizar himself stuck out his head by saying there would be more defections. Funny.

People, be rational. Wake up and look around you. What are these people doing to us?
In choosing sides wither BN or PR, we are closing the door to rationality.
Yes, our government needs to wake up and change (and let's not be prejudiced to say that the changes are not enough when they do change)

Loyalty to King and Country

Given the circumstances, I stand by HRH Sultan of Perak. Though he is not my current King, he was years ago. I always saw him as one who is knowledgeable, and regal, of course.

When I took part in the bersih march, I honestly believed in the cause to ask the intervention from the royal household to ensure free and fair elections. On March 8, it was indeed free and fair. I was also told on that day, that the King did mobilise a mechanized division to the palace grounds to ensure the safety of the people gathered there. Though, today, I seriously doubt that it happened. In fact, those who would like you to think that the 'people power' that came about will be able to change the government from BN to PR. So to convince you, statements like this are made. Well, I was a happy camper then.
I was sure my King would protect his subjects. But to the extent of believing in the next guy just to convince yourself?

And now, given the turnaround in Perak, I stand by HRH Sultan of Perak in his decision. Though, again, you are lead to believe that HRH was 'co-erced' to make this decision, I have confidence in him to have made a knowledgeable one.

Let those who wish to commit treason carry on with their actions. I am sure if one thing, if HRH made the decisioin to dissolve the Perak assembly, he would have been hailed a hero by PR and thier supporters, and BN would have to accept it. Not stage a sit in, and not hold on to power, as in the case of the MB.

I still support change, but if BN changes to rule better, I am also in support of it.
Annuar has been beaten in his own game, one that he has convinced himself that he has mastered. He certainly did not see this coming, and is now as usual, singing the 'victim' song.
I don't support stone throwing and crowd incitement to obtain power.

You Jump, I Jump!

And who can forget those famous words in that record Oscar grabbing movie by James Cameron? Titanic.....and indeed it is. The change of events in Perak is indeed mind boggling.

But who is to blame really? Since the infamous 'September 16 will see us march to Putrajaya' rant by Annuar Ibrahim, the efforts has been relentless in getting BN MPs to 'jump' ship.

It seems Annuar has not changed a bit. People who have good memory will remember his efforts in causing the downfall of the Sabah government. Forgot already? Go google. Better still, go to the national archives. For all the Annuar supporters out there, do not forget what kind of person he is. Did he change in prison? Well apparently so, from his prison garb, that is! Annuar was the second man in UMNO when he went 'down', his boss then knew the kind of person he really was, one that would not have thought twice to sell our country!

If memory serves me right, he is still a convicted person. Released on the grounds of technicality. (I could be wrong here, nut try reading the judgement when Annuar was released) And I am not saying that there are 'clean' politicians out there either. I can name one opposition MP who can now sit on the same table with his former party boss, eventhough he hates his guts. Nepotism plays out too in the opposition party (can't figure?).

My point is, politics is a dirty game. Period. So with the turn of events, who wants to see more frogs?
