Planes, Trains and Automobiles

A tragedy. 228 lives lost to a single (presumed) lightning strike. Perhaps, Tony Fernandes fainted facing the prospect of taking delivery of incoming airbuses for Air Asia, susceptible to lightning strikes! It is tragic though, but how many of us push away these kind of thoughts when embarking on our skyward journey? Most of us assume that it is safe, right? The same way we assume, Formula One drivers are invincible, driving at speeds in excess of 350kilometres. And when one does not survive his crash, we mourn for his loss, and blame it on the manufacturer. Basically, we take things for granted, as we do with our loved ones.....

Trains. Just how many of you take the LRT or STAR, generously rebranded RAPID, but it is no fast ride for sure! I know of some people who have endured the cramped, sardine like conditions just so that they could make it to work...late!! Those coming in from out of town stops like Kajang and Rawang, better be prepared to wake up at 4am!! So where are the trains promised to us by the last savings from the fuel rebate? Seeing the soil test done in Subang raised my hopes somewhat and hopefully, soon, other lines will be added to the TWO that serves KL.
And carriages too.....

This takes the cake, not too long ago, we heard of GM wanting to proceed with legal proceedings against a Chinese company for passing off their Bummers as Hummers...BUT WAIT!! Now GM wants to sell their ego for 250Million USD!! and to who? The Chinese of course!!

What do you think? Isn't it time to
1. Not take things for granted
2. Hope and pray that we at ground level get the attention of those who are supposed to lead.
3. Never, ever, ever, say NEVER!!

I didn't quite get this post. Is it a critic? Personal thoughts? Just some rambling? I do that all the time as well. : )
Anyway, about the LRT, I'm not sure if you rely on it, but judging from "I know of", I would presume you don't. I on the other hand use it every day to get to work so I can say, until you really rely on it and accept it as it is, you won't know how useful the LRT is. If you have to wake up at 6am in the morning to reach office on time, you will do it because you save a lot of money using the LRT.
