I know I had. But perhaps the way internet has brought information to the tips of our fingers can best explain this. From the newspaper reports (at least for those who bothered to check) it was more likely that Najib did say "Sack Kim Sai" but hey! I was not there, which is why I am doing my part to get to the reports from the NST archives. But wouldn't it strike you strange that if he did say that, why it was not reported in the Straits Times of Singapore? Or Asiaweek? Don't they have a penchant for anything that 'rocks' Malaysia?
I spoke to the few people I know who were there (arguably, some of you may say that the source is biased) and they all confirm the presence of certain banners that were extreme, but all of them said that Najib did not utter those words which Karpal had asked in Parliament yesterday.
Asiaweek carried the story titled, 'Taking it to the Brink - Malaysia', which starts of with, 'At the old disused stadium in Kuala Lumpur's Kampong Baru district, chauvinist sentiments were running high. (here, in an opening like this, I would have, if I was the reporter, used ' I'll soak this keris with Chinese blood' instead!)......but Asiaweek did not.
The accusations should cease, given that Najib has explained his take. As for those who conitnue to belief that Najib did say those words, I would certainly like them to prove it.
Otherwise, let it rest and move on.
Oh yes. If I were you, I will certainly double check, if not triple check 'published facts' from now on, if you hadn't been doing that already. one more thing.........
Seen this pix yet?
Well, read it all about it here!Get my point?
