Since the run up to the elections, I noticed a stark increase in video viewership via youtube.
I suppose this may be unique to our country given that almost all the media, be it print, radio or TV is in the good hands of the government (or its partners!).
Sharing this with some friends, we mooted the idea of an independent on demand video channel, content which is to be collated from within our country. With some kind contribution from these people, myblog-tv.blogspot has since put up two videos, with another two in the making.
Come April 9th, hopefully myblog-tv will be given permission to film the forum "the impact of ICT in the Malaysian General Elections - Lessons for Singapore". This will be hosted by the School of Public Policy, Institute of Policy Studies, NUS. It will feature Rocky (of Rockybru), YB Jeff Ooi (Screenshots), Haris Ibrahim (The People's Parliament) amongst others.
At the present moment, we have invested in basic equipment, including video capture cards, and sound devices to support our single camera team (On loan 3 CCD Panasonic camera by TVSmith). Next in line would be reliable tripods, and some basic lighting equipment.
To encourage others to do the same, do contact me if you wish to apply these techniques and tools for video editing and basic equipment for your home projects .
Your patience is greatly appreciated, bearing in mind that these are amateur footages.....but professional WYSIWYG content is almost guaranteed!

Tony...great start, warts and all, but what a start and a one-man project. People, Tony 'Mcgyver' Yew needs all our support, physical and monetary. He seems to have rejected a Singapore job-offer to serve Malaysia his way. More punch (power?) to you son.
Halo Tony,
Remember our proposal to go into video after the 1st Bangsa Malaysia forum in Penang? We will start some video shots from Penang soon. May be we can join forces to enrich the channel?
