Happy 50th Malaysia. Have you found your true Malaysian?

Merdeka! 50 years on, and we are still not sure what a True Malaysian is like.
Sure we can say we are, but deep down inside? Perhaps now is not the good time to raise sensitive questions. If there is a need to, we are told again, it has to be done behind closed doors.
Yeah, sure, whatever! Its ok, to unsheath the keris and threaten to bath it in blood.
But if there is a need to 'discuss' senstive issues, do it behind closed doors!

Of course, this is what they tell us. But I looked around last night, there are true Malaysians who do not draw lines and this itself tells me there is hope.
I am looking forward to September 16, and if you are up north in Penang, keep a look out for PELITAR. There is room for improvement.

Stoi! Ruikoiva!

Ok. It may not be the actual spelling in Russian. It actually means Stop. don't move! Stop. Because someone out there WILL tell you that he represents the authorities and he wants you to stop what you are doing and answer his questions. Where he is from does not matter. What he is interested in are the articles you have posted and other details about your blog.
At least this is what happened to our fellow blogger, presumably excommunicated Sheih Kickdefella.
Bloggers united. He coined it. He drew it, and theres no 'split' as presumed by many others.Sheih is just too busy to commit to All Blogs. Period.
But now? I hear it is different, for one, DPM and PM are on different agendas, IMHO.
And I have this advice for you, you are not obliged to volunteer any information to them at all. If you do so, you may tell them that you are doing so under duress and ask for a witness to be with you, better still, your lawyer.
Even if it means you have to draft a 10 page reply? Do it. If you are not sure, ask for a second opinion. Unless you are arrested by the authorities, don't be too afraid to tell them to Duck off! The degree of Ducking off is entirely up to you.

Why this article? Read here for what transpired, and who is Mazlan Othman.

3 days to her 50th Birthday...and then

Just imagine this.
For 49 years and 363 days, you have grown up in this household.
All of a sudden, three days shy of her 50th birthday, wham! The head of the family tells you that
well....the house? Its not what you think it is. More like what you believe in and the values of the family of the house? Well, its...its different.

You see, I grew up in a Malaysia that has no barriers. I went to school with schoolmates that do not tell each other they are different, and mixed only with their kind. Muslims, Christians, Buddhist, Hindus, they all mixed without any problem. We all THOUGHT we lived in a secular Malaysia, though Islam is the official religion. Our municipal councils did not govern the municipality with different values, but instead looked at the whole picture to accommodate the others. At least that was what I thought they did.

Last Saturday, having reaffirmed my belief that Malaysians do not necessarily share the same views as the Government of the day, I am again brought down to earth, by this press release.
So Mr Prime Minister, what exactly are you saying? When will you rescind on our rights as Malaysians which your Islam Hadhari prescribes? Toto? Magnum? Gentings? Guinness Anchor? Carlsberg? When?
Does it also mean now that I am a citizen of an Islamic State (though non theocratic!) that I can still practise my religion without fear? Really, what does it mean now? I grew up with a different Malaysia, now its another....

Can't we all just be one true Bangsa Malaysia? If you can't lead the way, I know some Malaysians who can....

25th August 2007. Be there.

UPDATE:28th August 2007
Lets see. Its been three days, and you would have probably read about that event. No? Rocky's, 3540's, Galadriel's,Screenshots,People's Parliament,A Little Taffer's,Walski's, Mage'sP, The senseintovert, shanghai fish, O.B.E. and probably the youngest blogger there that day, yeah, sure, whatever . (She was also the first to blog about the event!)
The gauntlet is thrown, so we now look ahead to having a road show around the country. I salute those who came from other parts of the country, Ipoh, Penang, Johor. There is hope for Malaysia. I am convinced.
What struck me most was the attendees. They were all in awe that Malaysians having met for the first time (most of them, anyway) would want to commit to a movement to truely come together as a one true Bangsa Malaysia. Never mind that the powers that be are more concerned about pointung out our differences! Never mind that!
For as long as we believe that our founding fathers meant otherwise, we have a future!
Hidup Bangsa Malaysia!
KEEP A LOOKOUT FOR PELITAR WILL YA?
And this is the result......

UPDATE:12th August 2007
OK. We have firmed it up for good. The Bangsa Malaysia Merdeka Get Together will be on 25th August 2007, Saturday, at 20:30hrs-midnight

Yes a forum will be held in the afternoon.
Please look at your calendar, and only if you are committed to this ,then send your invitation to the reflector emails. Please click here for details.
Hope to see you there, its time to turn all our frustrations into consolidated action.

CALLING FOR ANY MATERIALS FOR VIDEO PRESENTATION /POWER POINT for the evening, please feel free to email: alliedmartster@gmail.com , we hope to get these materials (credits will be mentioned, of course!) so that we can share it with those present for this (eagerly anticipated, unprecedented do!) Its not just me, ask him. Never Enough Policy?

NEP? Whats about this three letter word? To me, its Never Enough Policy for those who stick by it. Read here about a friends take on a friend who is complaining about being on the wrong side of the fence.
You see it? Which is why it is ever so important now to stand up and be counted. Yes, a true nation Never discriminates, but right now, it does even to its own, let alone dan lain lain.

I am sure if each of us relates a story about a close friend going through the same, we did have enough stories to reach the top of the Twin Towers.
I don't know, I keep seeing press releases designed to explain the inadequacies of this administration. Hey, even those working in PKFZ can do the maths, yet the official releases says otherwise. If this project was so goooooood and profitable, how else would you explain Jebel Ali's pull out?
Too many questions, too little answers. Too many non registered voters, if you asked me.

Will we ever be heard? People?

Abolish Sedition Act, Establish Anti-Hatred Law, makes sense doesn't it? Here is a joint Statement by several NGOs. But hey, if they are not going to take action over some Police report (with evidence) on some fishy deal involving RM4.6 billion, will these voices ever be heard?

Ok, lets do some mental assessment here. Police report over some doctored photos (important, so they sent a Police Officer who know nuts about internet - 2points) Police report over some seditous remarks against King and country (they spent 10 hours + 1 more quizzing a couple of brave Malaysians ever willing to expose the faults of the current administration-3points) but this takes the cake. ACA Report and Police report over some Municipal deals and a funeral parlour that was Illegal for some time, and reportedly closed down. (who did they send, Ghostbusters?)

And then theres the Minister who promised RM50 smart tags for Toll paying Malaysians (for three months leading to Merdeka! - sorry, I must have been sleeping, because I only know of one offer , which was made on the first and last press release, well done, must be an act of god!)
And then there is the Chief Justice? Is it written or not?

If its one promising thing to note, well, we have about 53 people who does not know Adam from Eve, coming together this Saturday, 25th of August, to meet like minded, True Malaysians, who do not hate, who do not discriminate, who do not give up, who will definately want to be heard, and I am certain, will want to do more to teach others what a true Malaysia will be.

And I hear, the world is watching too......

Ahh....More and more. But how much more can you take?

Well, its been a hectic week with the run up to the 25th of August. Its good to know that we are
all clear to go. Yup, and with the numbers confirmed, hopefully it will be a start of a big thing. . .

But lets reflect on the news that matter shall we? OK its a little bit late, this blogger has really been tied down. Negarakuku by Namewee? Read 3540 for her take. But didn't he apologise?
And the way our Government is going on about sedition, it seems its worse to sing the National Anthem in a creative way than to pillage the Nation's coffers!
Don't believe me? I wonder what does this mean then! Captain was from that organisation, if anyone knows, he's in the circle. Money down the drain again. And today, we are told that the Government HAD TO bail out, by virtue of providing a letter of support! WOW. So simple ah?

Never mind the rot in our CVLB, Puspakom and the likes! Just go ahead and jolly....and only if you are in the right camp! Makes sense?

STOP PRESS! Who's the Monkey?

Primates galore! Thats the order of the day, I guess. Judging from this column (a waste of space if you asked me!) it seems that its not only our CEO that has been sleeping. Helloooooo! Anybody home? Has Jocelyn (Joceline, Jostling Justline whatever...) for gotten or was she sleeping too?
Well, I am sure you remembered. Right? Come on. It was only in July that he made that statement, and now some two weeks later, we are told that he is being called a monkey?

There seems to be no shortage of people trying to get on the favoured list, wanna know who?
I think Zorro has got it spot on! Oh, so lets see if this SIL can get away with it too.
Come to think of it, if you want something on the other side of the fence, go to Klang!
(Klang- Bandar di Raja? how about , Klang, Bandar dengan Istana Idaman dan Pelabuhan Kayalan!-pun intended!)
At least one impartial Newspaper carried the news, and Rocky's take on this too.

Ali Baba and the Fourty thieves

This is one story that most of us would have heard when we were young. Most of us would just leave it in the subconscious, some of us would even use 'Open sesame' once in a while.
So have you heard of Jebel Ali? In my days of going in and out of Dubai, the one name that stuck to my head was the Jebel Ali Dry Docks. You can see ships of all sizes.

So have you heard of the Port Klang Free Zone? I must confess that I have not heard of it before, but being alerted about the fiasco there, and having a big partner like Jebel Ali opting out even before it took off, I smell something fishy...(pun intended!)
Ancient Mariner has his full take on this, and believe you me, having been in that circle and industry, you should want to read this more than what you'll get from the main stream media!(if you can find it in the first place!)

So where are the thieves?

CONFUSED STATE

Wednesday, August 01, 2007

A fitting Introduction, a good welcome speech, and an election to look forward to

3540 Jln Sudin, Shanghai Fish, People's Parliament, Screenshots, and Rocky's Bru

He said if there were even 10 people that showed up, he would be encouraged.
Jeff Ooi's imminent entry to politics via the re-energised DAP, is indeed a breath of fresh air.
'Heavy on the eyes, heavier on the shoulder', thats my interpretation of his openning statement 'Beratnya Mata memandang, berat lagi bahu memikul'. I am no supporter of the DAP, but I was there solely because this man which I have come to know, has pushed his limit a little higher

He spoke at length giving all present his thoughts, clear for all to see, no fancy words, no running around the bush, and clearly he believes he will be able to contribute to the Bangsa Malaysia, Malaysia for all, agenda.

And then there was the welcome speech. 'The law of the jungle....' thats all it took to remind us of a certain upstart and his reference to primates. Of which kind? Well, you may want to ask him if you ever get a chance. Still don't know? Read here. Short and precise, Uncle Lim welcomed Jeff to the fold, and hoped that others will follow suit.

Which brings me to the point, an election to look forward to. 3M Vs YB? and now YAB?
3 letters of the alphabet, and now 4 letters! I am looking forward to some more, because it simply does not add up! Magic in numbers, you say? Need I say more?
We are back to that usual hog wash. Till we get some more thrown our way, we have Jeff to thank for as he prepares his long walk into, hopefully, Parliament.
Walk with him, and you'll never walk alone.
