Mum being helped along in the Langkawi Underwaterworld by my Sis, Grace
and close family friend, Dr Dewa. (travelling physician...he he) THANKS AIR ASIA!
You see, I really have to thank Air Asia, for its true. Now everyone can fly.
Yes, yours truly, the 'pokai' guy, who is about to loose his house to his creditors, was able to 'take' the entire family for a holiday! 12 adults and 6 children, close friends and family! What a ball!
Recharged , we did. Some of us, away from the thoughts of, not having a job (actually, having one, but having to get through the motion of losing one's job!), and just seeing the kids having a whale of a time, was good. I can't say enough of it, Thanks AIR ASIA! Why? you might ask?
We were lucky to get FREE** air tickets from AIr Asia for the entire family. Ok...some of us paid 9.99! But, lets rewind to....1996. Ok, maybe not that long ago. Only MAS controlled the Malaysian skyways! OK, there was also the occasional SIA, THAI, CX that flew in to selected locations, but thats that. It would have probably cost our entire family RM10,000.00 just for the airfare alone.
What about the tourist dollars that cascades downwards to the 'Mat's' that runs day to day businesses in Pantai Cenang? The impact is huge. Air Asia that is. Our family and friends spent a bit there, and it was better than taking the dollars to other countries, ain't it?
So, do I also have to thank MAS? Probably, because, if Audra was still working for them, then we wouldn't have taken Air Asia, would we? But I won't. I know why, but I shall keep it to myself for now.
**for their anniversary Air Asia gave away free tickets to those who logged in to their website.
We also celebrated my mums 75th birthday in Lngakawi, despite having to send her to the Langkawi hospital for dialysis earlier in the day, she was in high spritis, having been able to share the occasion with the entire fanily, and close friends too! She also would like to thank Air Asia!
The recent passing of Zewts mum, and his postings made this trip even more sentimental, as we celebrated my mums 75th birthday.
